Jane Merrell (Cunningham) Badgley

Jane Merrell Badgley, 88, of Peru, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne.

She was born on July 31, 1937 in Michigan City, Indiana to Emmette and Lucille Irene Marie (Crozier) Cunningham. She married Franklin Roosevelt Badgley in 1955 and they shared 61 wonderful years together until his passing on July 24, 2018. Together Franklin and Jane owned and operated Country Ceramic Workshop in Chesterton, Indiana for several years.

Jane is survived by her son Bruce S. Badgley and his wife Jeanette of Shillington, Pennsylvania and daughter Nora J. Badgley-Tielen of Peru, Indiana. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Matthew J. Long, Samuel E. Long, Jenna (Jonathon) Rodriguez, Jacklyn Badgley, and Jillian (Mitch) Brewer; in addition to two great grandchildren and a brother, Donald Cunningham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Franklin, her daughter, Beth A. Badgley, and her sister Donna Jean Cunningham.

There will be a family gathering at a later date.
