James Franklin Yard passed away on Saturday, January 1st, 2022 at his residence. He was born on November 12th, 1938 in Peru, Indiana. He married Patricia Sue (Krile) Yard on May 17th, 1960 in Peru, Indiana.
He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Eagles in Peru, Indiana. He retired from General Tire/Trelleborg where he had worked for over 40 years. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, traveling, and fishing. He had been on a shuffleboard and bowling leagues. Recently he enjoyed gambling, taking rides in the car, reminiscing with family and friends, and an avid follower of Indiana University basketball and Indianapolis Colts Football.
He is survived by one brother, Ronnie, and his wife, Charlene Yard, a stepbrother, John Pogue and wife Mandee, and five daughters: Lea Ann Sellers and husband Richard, Gina Short and husband Darrin, Jami Correll and husband Kevin, Jodi Worden and husband Jeff, and Staci Creager and husband Jeff. He has ten grandchildren (Michael King and husband Tommy Fowler, Jana Fouce and husband Robert, Hope Skurkis and husband Ryan, Elizabeth Worden, and fiancé, Jason Spencer, Brett Worden and wife Ariel, Ryan Sellers and wife Carrie, Cassandra Worden, Seth Correll, Sage Correll, and Jillian Creager) and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 58 years.
Friends and family may gather from 1pm to 2pm on Sunday, January 9th, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 181 West Main Street, Peru, Indiana, with service following at 2pm.
