James L. Dicken, 77, of Peru, Indiana, after a long illness with Agent Orange went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 30, 2021.
Jim was born on February 20, 1944 to John and Ruth Dicken (deceased). He was raised in Sugar Grove, Ohio and after graduation from Berne Union High School, Jim joined the United States Air Force in 1963, and retired at Grissom Air Force Base in 1983 after 20 years serving his country at the rank of Master Sergeant. After retirement, he went to Civil Service from 1982 to 1999.
He married Kay Mansberger in 1964, and she survives, along with their sons Doug (Judy) Dicken, and Jeff (Stephanie) Dicken; 3 grandsons David (Sydne), Alex, and Christopher; two great-grandsons Dominic, and Jasper; and one great-granddaughter, Bentley; all of Peru; and also, a sister, Linda Dicken Ringhiser of Sugar Grove, Ohio – all of whom he loved very much!
Visitation will be held from 10am – 1pm on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will follow at 1pm, with Pastor Matt Flenar officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Military Rites Team.
