James Allen Christensen July 7, 1961- December 29, 2025
James Allen Christensen, 64, Peru, Indiana died December 29, 2025.
He was born in Windfall Indiana where he lived with his Mother, Grandmother, his older sister Sue, and little brother Daniel.
He was a military veteran that served proudly and honorably in the United States Army. He was stationed in South Korea, where he met his wife Lisa, now divorced. They had two sons Joseph Allen Christensen and Jeffery Paul Christensen.
After retiring from the military, he worked as a DOD civilian police officer at Grissom Air Force Base for many years, making many memories and great life-long friends. He later became an avid Christian and took his faith very seriously. He made his purpose in life to spread the gospel and tell people about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his eldest son, Joseph Christensen and youngest son, Jeffery Christensen, grandchildren Reyna Williams, Crystal Christensen, Alaina Christensen, Carly Christensen (Joseph’s daughters), And Jayden Christensen (Jeffery’s son), his Great Grandchildren Grayson Cain, Broderick Cain, Chloe Cain (Crystal’s Children), Michael Shafer, Evelina Williams (Reyna’s Children).
For the past decade he lived with and was cared for by his granddaughter, Crystal and family. Where he lived his final and most loving chapter of his life as a grandfather and great grandfather.
He loved his days filled with laughter and watching wrestling with “his boys”.
James was very loved and will be forever missed.
His service will be held at Flowers Leedy and Allen Funeral Homes at 105 W 3rd St, Peru, IN 46970 on Wednesday January 7, 2026. The visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. The service will be at 11:00 a.m.
James will be laid to rest at Marion National Cemetery upon the conclusion of the service.
Family and close friends may follow to the burial site at 1700 E 38th St, Marion, IN 46953.
A gathering to share memories and stories of James will be held at the Church of Christ at Grissom located at 1461 N Matador St, Peru, IN 46970.
His celebration of life will begin at 4:30 p.m. Food and refreshments will be provided.
