Ima "Ruth" (Cook) Edkins

Ruth Edkins was born on November 23, 1924 in Union County, Tennessee, to the late William and Myrtle Cook. She died peacefully on September 10, 2023.

Ruth is survived by her children; Don (Susan) of Peru, Sheryl of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and Brian (Wendy) of South Australia; by her grandchildren: Michael (Wendy), Sander (Britt), Josh (Suzy), Levi (Jessica), Aaron, Rachelle, Diana, and Elizabeth; and by her great-grandchildren: Alexis (Kyle), Elijah, Rebecca, Madeline, Juliet, Grayson, Alex, Evan, Audrey, Tessa, Ava Nell, Makenna, Maddie, Morgan, Margaret, Elizabeth, William, Fox, and Evelyn.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husbands: Air Force 1st Lt. Donald Leicht (killed in the Korean War) and Elmer (Ed) Edkins; by her infant daughter, Janet; and by her grandson, Zachary.

Following private graveside services at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 22nd, officiated by Pastor Mike Williams, Ruth will be buried in Galveston Cemetery.
