Helen Lorraine (Townsend) Bowman

Helen Lorraine Bowman, 95, of Peru passed away at her residence on Friday, September 5, 2025.

She was born in Peru on July 10, 1930 to the late Carl Townsend and Hazel (Mooney) Arnold. Helen was married to Floyd “Peachy” Bowman who preceded her in death on September 4, 1971.

Helen was employed at several different jobs throughout the years. Her last place of employment was at Heraeus Electro-Nite.  She enjoyed watching hummingbirds, but what brought her the most joy in life was spending time with her family.

Helen is survived by her children; Vicki Bowman of Peru, Steve (Becky) Bowman of Wabash, 8 grandchildren: Jackie (Jeff) Nelson, LeAnn (Tom) Bellemy, Mike Stevens, Stephanie (Mark) Reynolds, Jeff Stevens, Brandon Reffitt, Stevie (Brian) Fosnaugh, and Libby Corn, 13 great- grandchildren, 14 great- great- grandchildren, and her sister, Judy Ewer of Peru.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughters, Cynthia Jo Stevens, Karen Sue Reffitt,2 grandchildren, 1 great- grandchild, and brother, Toby Wayne Townsend.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Pastor Matt Myers officiating. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
