Heather Carlene (Black) Stapleton

Heather Carlene (Black) Stapleton, 40, of Peru, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 6:28am at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru.  She was born on November 4, 1981 to Harold W. Stapleton and Karen Sue Stapleton.

A daughter, a sister, a mother with a kind heart and a gentle soul, a warmer heart has never beaten in a person. This world has lost a true angel. We who knew her, will miss her. She never had much as far as money or earthly possessions but she was the richest person in life we will ever know. Never down and always with an attitude that would lift others up in laughter that would just make you forget your problems. We miss you but you were too good for us to have forever. It was our honor to have had the Lord loan us a kind spirited beautiful soul like you. Thank you, your brother Steve Ostafin, your sister Melissa Clifton, and then the rest of the family.

Heather is survived by her two sons, Zane Stapleton and Kain Starkey, both of Peru; her mother Karen Sue Stapleton of Peru, brother Steve(Denise) Ostafin of Twelve Mile, sister Melissa (Danny) Clifton of Lagro, three nieces Erin Bales, Trista (Leroy) Martin, Stephanie (James) Ostafin, and one nephew Stevie (Niki) Ostafin, all of Peru, as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2pm-5pm on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will follow at 5pm, with Pastor: Toph Elkins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family for funeral arrangements.
