Harriet Pauline (Lawson) Gehle

Harriet Pauline Gehle, 81, of Peru, Indiana went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.

She was born in Peru, Indiana on September 5, 1938 to Mary and Acie Lawson.  She married Wilbur Gehle on April 26, 1997. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2010.

She attended Oakdale Baptist Church in Peru, Indiana, where she was involved in teaching children’s church.  She retired from the YMCA in Peru, where she ran the front desk.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crafting.

Surviving family includes her beloved dog, Sally; a daughter Ellen (late Larry) Digue, Tim (Candy) Gehle, and grandchildren Larry (Cheryl) Maggart, Kerrie Hannigan, Jean (Bob) Hilbert, Dan (Mindy) Gehle, Monica (Norm) Jennings, and Rachael Gehle.  Also surviving are 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren with 1 due in February, as well as nieces, Janie Jones, Diane Constable; nephews Gene (Lisa) Jones, Jim (Christy) Jones and David Jones; great-niece Natalie Pruitt; great-nephews, TJ Pruitt and Gage Jones; and special friend, Flo McKinley

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Floella and Marilyn.

Memorial contributions may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held from 11am – 1pm on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will follow at 1pm, with Pastor Bob Stuck officiating.  Burial will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport, Indiana.
