Harold "Kim" Fenton Obituary

Harold Kim Fenton (Kim) left the frailties of this life behind Saturday morning, December 9 at the Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.  He was born February 21, 1955 in Peru to Clyde Emmerson and Mercedis Elizabeth (Bloom) Fenton, Sr. and was a member of the Miami Nation of Indians.  Rev. Donald C. Humphrey united Kim in marriage to Carol Sue Finster on June 4, 1977 in the Bunker Hill First Baptist Church.

Kim graduated from Peru High School - class of 1973 and played varsity basketball and football.  He then attended Ball State University before starting work at Bryan Steam.  At the age of 21 he fulfilled his dream of working in law enforcement – first on the Peru City Police department and then the Miami County Sheriffs department where he retired on July 15, 1995 with the rank of Sergeant.  He was a graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.  He then began his next career at the General Motors Truck Assemble plant in Roanoke where he retired after 25 years.

Kim and Carol truly bonded together while remodeling their homes in Miami County - the former Arnolds Candy store on East Main Street and Carol’s family homestead farmhouse south of Peru.  In July 2000 they relocated to Wabash County.

Kim truly loved his wife and family and was a man of great integrity.  He gave his best to every task and then enjoyed a quiet life at home.  Kim was very proud of his children, Jessie B. Fenton, Greensburg and Courtney N. (Todd) McEuen, Evansville and his grandchildren Grayson D. McEuen and Caroline L. McEuen, Evansville.  He is survived by his brother, Clyde E. (Tamera) Fenton, Jr., Peru.  He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother, Lenora E. Bloom who resided with his parents.

Visitation will be held from 4pm to 6pm on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru.
