Grace Labrijn Klein

The name “Grace” that God bestowed is of a loving, generous, humble, faithful, joyful, and humorous woman. Miss Grace has taken God's messenger’s hand, held on tight, and is now in God's Home. She went to God on Monday, October 14, 2019.  Grace was born Grace Labrijn in Bandoeng, Indonesia on July 20, 1937. She is the daughter of CLD and Susanna Labrijn of Indonesia.

She married John Marcellus Klein who predeceased her in April, 1999. Also predeceased is her son David in April, 2000. Survivors are her children: Jerry, New Orleans, LA; Indra, Fairfax, VA; Jeffery, Palm Bay, FL; Yolanda and husband Jeff (Malott), Indianapolis, IN; Tammarra, Indiana; Broerie, New York City, New York; and Lily, Peru, IN. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Grace worked most of her life up to retirement in 2019 from Dukes Memorial Hospital, Dietary Department. She also worked at the First Baptist Church, Cook; Peru Lions Club, Cook and Member; Miller's Merry Manor, Cook.

Many people from many places who have met Grace reference her as “Amazing Grace.” She lived a full life. Grace was a dedicated, committed, and unwavering mama, Oma, friend and beautiful woman in God's world.

She is gone

You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she’s gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back

A loving memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at First Baptist Church, 53 East Main Street, Peru, IN. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Memorial service will follow immediately after visitation, with Pastor Bob Adelsperger officiating.
