Glenna Adkins Riddell, 76, of Peru peacefully left this life, while surrounded by her family, to be with the Lord on Sept 23, 2025 at IU Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
She was born on February 1, 1949 in Grayson Kentucky to Harlen Adkins and Lois Davis Adkins. The family moved to Indiana when she was 5 years old. She graduated from Peru High School in 1968 and went on to school to become a Respiratory Therapist. She worked in the medical field for 30 years and retired from Dukes Hospital in 2006.
Glenna married Gerald (Jerry) Williams in 1968. They had one child, Sherry, who survives. Jerry passed away in 1984. In 1990, Glenna married Richard Riddell. He passed away in 2007.
She was a member of Grand Street Baptist Church in Wabash for many years and loved her church family. Tending to her large yard brought her much joy and kept her going. She loved sitting on the porch with her morning coffee or while chatting with friends and family. One of her greatest joys was her Grandson, Brayden, who made her beam with pride. Glenna loved quiet nights at home watching a good movie or keeping up with news stories with her good friend Mike Carter. She loved her family and spending time with them meant the world to her. She was a sweet and loving soul who touched countless lives. She will be remembered for her smile and kind heart and will be profoundly missed.
Glenna is survived by her daughter, Sherry Williams (Michael Bockover), one grandson, Brayden Bockover, two sisters, Cathie Browning (Leonard) and Donna Eikenberry, one brother, Wade Adkins (Dorothy) all of Peru. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews all who were very special to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and two brothers, Gene Spillman and David Adkins.
Per the family’s request, there will be a private service. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery.
