Glen Dallas “GD” Boettjer, Jr., age 77 Peru Indiana passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the at the Blair Ridge nursing facility.
He was born January 14, 1949 at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru, Indiana to Glen D. Boettjer Senior and Lucy E (Andrews) Boettjer.
Glen graduated from Peru high school in 1967, and served our country in the US Army as a military policeman stationed in Saigon during that time, and received several medals metals for his service in Vietnam. Glen retired from the CSX Railroad in the early 2000s as a conductor/brakeman.
Glen loved helping others and was an active member of St John’s Lutheran Church in Peru Indiana. Glen enjoyed time with friends and family and eating out at his favorite hangouts. Not To be forgotten was his great love of his dear pets, GD also enjoyed fishing from an early age starting out in Chetek, ,Wisconsin fishing with all of our cousins and learning the ropes at an early age from Grandpa Boettjer and his father and uncles.
He loved his church family , Railroad, and fishing buddies. Glen was a good father, grandfather and brother and will be missed greatly.
He is survived by his children Anje Boettjer and ( Nicole ) , Bridgette Boettjer and(Lena); grandchildren, Abigail Boettjer and Greta Boettjer , and Sydney Connor and Levi Conner. Also surviving our his loving sisters, Cindy Vrooman (Mike), The Villages, Fl; Janice Fischer, Murfreesboro, TN, and Debbie Walker, Peru, IN. And many loving cousins, a special recognition to Bill Black who came & spent many comforting moments with GD, and extended family member members.
Also, his special friend who he shared some great times with, Mary Ellen Campbell.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents and his son Corey Boettjer.
Visitation will be Saturday 2 to 4 at Flowers-Leedy funeral home with services following visitation.
In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
