George Morris Sr Obituary

George G. Morris Sr. (71) passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 2:10 PM while in the care of Dukes Memorial Hospital of Peru, Indiana. He was born on June 6, 1942 in Peru, Indiana to the late Lawrence (Larry) Ahnert and Icea Tivola (Morris). George lived out most of his life in the Peru, Indiana area and made his living as an over the road Truck Driver for about 30 years. His C.B. handle was "The Family Man", and with such a C.B. handle, you know Family was very important to him. George loved to travel the country and see all the sights earth had to offer. He also loved to take his Children with him on the road, in his "Big Rig". George’s greatest loves were Family, Friends, Country, Fishing, good food, old western movies, and the music of Elvis Presley. He served in the U.S. Army 1960 - 1962, and was stationed in Germany for most of his service. George married Arlice Fern Correll (McKinney) in 1974 and became the proud Step-Father of 7 Children, and would later have 2 more Children with Arlice. George received all of his enjoyment and happiness in life from spending time with his family and friends. He kept life simple, and didn’t bother with trivial stresses. One of his favorite pass-times was fishing with his Children or Friends. He loved to talk and tell stories or reminisce about earlier years. And he didn’t enjoy even his favorite things, if he couldn’t share them with his loved ones. George would always brag about his Children, and his face would light up whenever they were around. His face would carry a never-ending smile when he held his grandchildren in his arms. He desired very little out of life, other than watching his Children grow up and to have them close to him. Anyone that knew George, Loved him. George is survived by 1 sister; Shirley Heckathorn (Morris) of Rochester Indiana, 1 brother; Lawrence Ahnert Jr. of Peru Indiana. 2 daughters; Laura Neale (Morris) of Pavilian New York, Tivola Morris of Peru Indiana, 1 Son; George Morris Jr. of Peru Indiana, 4 grand-daughters; Teresa Morris, Abigail Adkins, Alix Bussard, and Salem Morris, 3 grand-sons; Corey Morris, Dakota Morris, and Logan Morris, 1 great-grand-son; Phoenix Morris.
