Frank Milton Marek Jr., 70, passed away at his residence on Sunday, April 30, 2023 after an extended battle with cancer.

He was born in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Frank Marek Sr. and Joyce (Marsh) Tweed on April 3, 1953. He married Rose (Leedy) Scott on September 1, 1990.

Frank served in the United States Air Force between 1971 and 1980. He achieved the rank of E-5 SSGT. Frank later worked at Miami Trucking as a dump truck driver.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Rose of Peru, Indiana, son, Frank Milton Marek III of Denver, Indiana, sister, Sandra K. (Joe) Campbell of Georgia, brother, George Milton Marek of Virginia, cousin and best friend, Michcale Wayne Jackson of Virginia, and Rose’s children; Marie (Gary) Nichols of Peru, Indiana, Sara Kay Robinson of Peru, Indiana, Phillip Scott (Christine) of Indiana, and Sheryl (Paul) Fincher of Washington State, 10 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kenneth O. Tweed Jr., favorite aunt, Ann Jackson, Rose’s son, John Scott, one grandson, and one great granddaughter.

A special note from Frank: It is with the deepest pride and gratitude to Rose’s children & spouses, grandchildren, and the entire Leedy Family for allowing me to be a part of their lives. I am honored. The beautiful memories and time shared with Rose were undoubtedly the best years of my life. I thank God for bringing us together.

A special note from family and friends: Frank will be remembered for his generosity, caring heart, outgoing personality, and the deep adoration he had for his wife, Rose.

Graveside service will take place on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 10am at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mexico, Indiana with Pastor David Noel officiating. A celebration of life will follow from 11:30AM to 1:30PM at the Literary Aid Society, 21 West Canal Street in Peru, Indiana. Military rites will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to A Cause for Paws, Logansport Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 1402, Logansport, Indiana 46947.
