Esther Ruth Sailors

Esther Ruth Sailors, 87 of Peru went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 21, 2022 at home surrounded by the love and support of her children.

She was born in Kokomo, Indiana on August 29, 1935 to Louis McLay and Ruth Busby Clark.  Both parents preceded her in death.

Esther enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, and indoor gardening.  She was especially proud of her holiday cactus plant collection.  She surprised us all by her technological abilities over the last twenty years and became an avid Facebook user.

Esther is survived by one brother, Glenn (Rose) McLay of Russiaville, and one sister, Linda (Bob Loughery) Thomas of Englewood, Florida.  Her children: Roberta (Delon) Rumfelt of Marion, Susan Wilburn, Beth Enyart, Tim Enyart, Jerilyn (Dwayne)Sievers, and Lisa Adams of Peru and seventeen grandchildren: Billy Ritter, Nikki McNabb, and Keith McNabb of Johnson City, TN, Amy Johns of Mesa, AZ, Carla Emerson, Nick (Courtney) Enyart, Metea Osborne, Tara Rader, Tavon Selleck, Makenna Burney of Peru, Trent (Cady) Townsend of Marion, , Lloyd Yeager of Fort Wayne, and Sarah Shipman of West Valley City, UT.  Twenty-six great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was dearly loved by her nieces and nephews.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Adams, brother, John McLay; sister, Martha Greer; children: Janet McNabb and Greg Enyart: grandchildren: Tammy Sue Rigle, Eric Burton, Billy Rader, Christopher Miller and one great grandchild: Brandon Ritter.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana from 10am to 12pm. The funeral service will follow at 12pm with Pastor Mark Elliott officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, Indiana.
