Doris E. (Malott) Smith

Doris Elaine Smith, 89, passed away on March 27, 2026, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born in Peru, Indiana on October 5, 1936 to Ira and Genevieve (Simmons) Malott. Doris had 12 siblings with 3 of them surviving. 

On December 24, 1952 she married her beloved husband, Robert D. Smith.

During their marriage they welcomed four daughters: Cynthia (Kenny) Lyon, Vicky (Dave) Utterback, Jean (Darrel) Deeds, and Linda (Mike) Gochenour. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Smith, her parents, several siblings, Rusty Gochenour (son-in-law) and 2 grandchildren, Ryan and Lisa Utterback.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Flowers-Leedy/Allen Funeral Homes, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana 46970 from 11am-1pm with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery in Denver, Indiana.
