Donald Gene Alspaugh, 93, of Peru, passed away at 4am on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Blair Ridge Health Campus in Peru.
He was born in Peru on December 5, 1927 to Earl and Lillian (Laverty) Alspaugh. He married Norma M. (Wolf) Alspaugh on May 15, 1949, and she survives. Donald was a 1945 graduate of Bunker Hill High School, and he retired from Nipsco as a pipe fitter. He was a member of the Bunker Hill Coin Club, a 50 year member of the Bunker Hill Masonic Lodge, and a member of the McNeely Memorial Church for over 67 years.
He is survived by his wife and their children Mark (Karen) Alspaugh of Littleton, CO, Kay (James) Ridenour of Mishawaka, and daughter-in-law Patricia Alspaugh of Galena, IL. Also surviving are grandkids Jason Alspaugh, Shannon (Aaron) Spaid, Jessica (Justin) Char, Cole (Michelle) Ridenour, and Matthew (Ashley) Ridenour; and great-grandkids Lilly, Charlotte, Breven, Reagan, Makena, DJ, Connor, Blake, and Lauren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son David Alspaugh, and brother Robert Alspaugh.
Visitation will be held from 2pm – 3pm on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will follow at 3pm, with Pastor Donald McDowell officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McNeely Memorial Church.
