David Lee Tharp

David Lee Tharp passed away at his residence on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

He was born in Sutton, West Virginia, on August 4, 1953, to David Lewis Tharp and Norma Ruth (Butler) Tharp. He married Lois (Collins) Tharp in 1974. She preceded him in death on September 1, 2003.

David graduated from Peru High School in 1971. He worked at David Levin Company and most recently Bowman’s before his retirement.

He is survived by his daughters; Amy (Eric) Pearson of Denver, Elizabeth (Chad) Resler of Kokomo, son; David (Joanna) Tharp of Kokomo, girlfriend; Pam Hendrix of Peru, grandchildren; Abby (T.J.) Holman of Wabash, Luke Pearson, Ella Pearson, William Pearson, and Sophia Pearson all of Denver, Lillian Resler, Watson Tharp, and Rowan Tharp all of Kokomo, great-grandchild, Hazel Holman of Wabash, sisters; Phyllis (Greg) Meiring of Tucson, Arizona, and Carol (Ron) Statzer of Denver, Indiana.

David is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a son, Jason Tharp.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 4pm-7pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 11am with Pastor Ron Bowland officiating.  Interment will take place at Paw Paw Church Cemetery.
