Constance (Connie) Mongosa

Constance (Connie) Mongosa, 81, of Peru, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Peru on March 6, 1939 to Fremont Sr. and Ruth (Fenton) Correll.  She married Nathaniel (Pete) Mongosa Jr. on June 1, 1963, and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2018.  Connie worked for many years at J.C. Penney, and was a health caregiver.  She also taught Sunday School at the First Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Jo Ellen (Mongosa) Estes of Logansport; and two sons: John Allen (Lois) Mongosa of Peru, and Eric Shawn Mongosa of Peru.  Also, grandchildren Jared C. (Jenna) Mongosa, Dillion B. (Bailey) Mongosa, Savannah C. Mongosa, Natane J. (Nic) Turner, Nevaeh A. Mongosa, Greg (Lauren) Estes, Mary (Zane) Pasley, Cara B. (Justin) Wilcox, Nathaniel (Kylea) Mongosa, Philip (Jeni) Townsend, and Mathew (Jessica) Townsend; and great-grandchildren Faye Turner, Ayla Mongosa, Cash Pasley, Holden Pasley, Norah Jo Estes, Walden Estes, Averie Wilcox, Jonathan Wilcox, Alyssa Townsend, Hayden Townsend, Graham Townsend, Ezra Townsend, Simon Townsend.  Also surviving are brothers Gary Correll and Skip Correll, and sister Myrna Greene, all of Peru.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, great granddaughter Clara Pickens, brothers James Correll and George Correll, and sisters Nancy Kindlesparker and Carol Galbraith.

Visitation will be held from 11am – 1pm on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 331 West Sixth Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will follow at 1pm, with Pastors Mark Elliott and Tony Winter officiating.  Burial will take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Logansport, Indiana.
