Charles “Charlie” Roy Mofield, 67, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Friday, June 24, 2022 after an extended illness.
Charles was born on October 2, 1954 in Fort Hood, Texas to William H. Mofield Sr. and Gertrud (Mascher) Mofield.
He graduated from Peru High School with the class of 1972. On March 23, 1974, he married Glenda (Hilgeman) Mofield and they shared 48 years of marriage. Charlie retired from Square D as a Machinist after 42 years. In his spare time, he loved watching the Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Glenda, in addition to their children, Alaina Mofield, Rich (Emily) Mofield, Rob Mofield (Shanon Sampson), and Christy (Chris) Spencer all of Peru. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ashlynn Stahl, Lucas Spencer, Chandler Mofield, Alex Spencer, Alli Spencer, and Oliver Mofield, as well as brothers, Harold and Ron Mofield, a sister, Lorretta Westfall, and sisters-in-law, Lori Mofield and Connie Mofield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Roscoe Mofield and Bill Mofield Jr.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 11am-2pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Graveside services will follow at 2:30pm at Mount Hope Cemetery, 411 North Grant Street, Peru, Indiana with Shanon Sampson officiating.
