Carolyn J. Phillipy, 86, of Peru, passed away at 10:25pm on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Blair Ridge Health Campus.
She was born in Kokomo on September 8, 1932 to Paul and Mildred (Christner) White. She married Connie M. Phillipy on October 20, 1950. He survives. A member of the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, Carolyn retired as the head dietician at Peru Community Schools. She was also an extremely talented self-taught cake decorator.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, and their children: Deborah (Joe) Dawalt of Peru, Teresa “Terri” (Jon) Hoke of Tucson, AZ, and Scott Phillipy of Muncie, IN. Also, five grandchildren: Nathan Dawalt, Adam Dawalt, Sean Baker, Heather Ferrari, and Sarah Phillipy; as well as six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Ronald (Sandy) White of Kokomo, and sister Rebecca (Tom) Bender of Bunker Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 10am – 11am on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church. Funeral service will follow at 11am, with Pastor Evan Strong officiating. Burial will take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport, Indiana.
