Carolyn Norris Obituary

October 6, 1939-February 23, 2023

Carolyn Ann (Bevington) Norris of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away February 23, 2023 at the Community North Hospital in Fishers, Indiana.  She is survived by her husband Robert Norris and her daughter Ane Marie (Connie) Fiems. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and sister-in-law’s Monelle Bevington of Kokomo and Velma Bevington of Bunker Hill.

Carolyn was born the youngest of 8 children on October 6, 1939 in Bunker Hill, Indiana to Clarence Bevington and Sylvia (Stout) Bailey.  She had 7 siblings who preceded her in passing:  Maxine Bargerhuff, Second Lt Galen Bevington, M. Arlene (Bevington) Lewis, Richard Dale Bevington, Phyllis (Bevington) Wheeler, Hubert “Verlin” Bevington, Ronald Bevington, stepbrother Richard “Dick” Bailey, and stepsisters Sue (Bailey) Alexander and Helen (Bailey) Solami.

Carolyn graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1957 and completed a year & half of college.  She worked for Delco Radio in Kokomo, IN, TRW Semiconductors/Systems in Los Angeles County and Rio Linda Elem School in Rio Linda, CA, before retiring as a Human Resources Specialist at Berlin Cohen Law Firm in San Jose, California.  She was an amazing typist and could type over 110 words per minute perfectly.

On October 7, 1962 she met her loving husband Robert (Bob) Norris on a blind date and they were married at the Bunker Hill Air Force Chapel.  Carolyn and Bob spent 36 years in California before retiring in Indianapolis in July 2000.

Carolyn was very active throughout her life singing and playing the trumpet and organ/piano for their churches, weddings, and various musical performances. She had a great sense of humor, loved Jesus and was a committed homemaker and Christian throughout her life.  She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, reading, attending musical concerts/performances, puzzles, word games and her many sweet schnauzers throughout the years. She loved her visits from her current schnauzer Molly and enjoyed sharing her snacks with her.
