Betty Jean (Marcotte) Browning was born on June 21, 1942. Passed away on August 6, 2026 at 11:00pm. Born to Clara and Norman Marcotte in Erie, Pennsylvania. Married Donald Browning Sr. on January 26, 1965. Had 3 children, Donald Browning Jr. passed away June 5, 2017. Tammy Browning and life partner Chris Wheeler. Norman Browning. Husband Don Browning passed away May of 2010. Betty was an Avon Representative for over 30 years. Factory worker for several years.
Betty was a Christian and loved music, Westerns, and Donald Trump. Would travel to listen to Christian, 50’s and 60’s. Loved Elvis Presley music. Betty was a caregiver for oldest son for 47 years.
Last several years was a resident of Blair Ridge. Survive brother Johnnie (Sharon) Marcotte of Liberty, Indiana and sister Dorothy (George) Mize of Peru, Indiana. Betty was a graduate of Peru High School class of 1960.
Want to give thanks to Donna and Rick, Eden, Linda and friends from Blair Ridge. Special friends Lynn and Scott, Alex and Stevie. Great big shout out to all staff that took care of Betty while she was a resident of Blair Ridge.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Rod Correll officiating. Burial will take place at Reyburn Cemetery in Peru.
