Beth Ann Tomes (59) went home to rest with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 12, 2022 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on January 1, 1963 in Peru, Indiana to Charlie Baker and Judy (Sutton) Baker. She married her high school sweetheart Troy Tomes on June 5, 1993. Where they reside in Peru, Indiana.
Beth graduated from Peru High School with the class of 1981. She was a licensed beautician for 40 years. For 23 of those years she worked at Eastwood Place and many assisted living facilities around the community where she really loved “her ladies.” For 10 years she was an EMT with the Mexico & Denver volunteer fire departments. Not only was Beth devoted to her community she was a strong woman of faith. She was a member of Walk By Faith Community Church in Roann for 16 plus years where she was involved with many mission trips and women's ministries.
She was a lover of God, her girlfriends, coffee, a good book, sand between her toes, and jet setting to her next destination. She was an honest, one of a kind soul who knew no stranger. Beth had a way of lighting up any mood with a joke and a smile, we always said she was our sunshine on a cloudy day. Beth raised her three beautiful children with kindness, support, patience and humility. Beth was immensely proud of her family and left only beautiful memories behind.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is also survived by her children, Emilee Cyphers, Wesley Cyphers (Karsen Ennis), Amee Tomes; brother, Bill Baker (Linda); and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Beth is preceded in death by her father, Charlie Baker, younger brother, Jeffery Baker, Aunt Brenda Crouch, and nephew, Noah Morris.
We know that our time was cut short, but we are happy knowing the angels finally have you back. “See you later” to a wonderful, strong mother, daughter, sister and best friend.
