Barbara Jean (Marks) Olinger

Barbara J. Olinger, 97, of Peru, received her wings as she passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru, Indiana.

Barbara was born on September 11 , 1925 in Peru, Indiana to Archie and Naomi Elizabeth (Hubbard) Marks.  She married John Olinger on June 19, 1942 and they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage before John passed away on January 31, 2007. Barbara was a homemaker. She thoroughly enjoyed sitting at the table and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by her children: Lynn (Jay) Hunt of Peru, Indiana, Dawn Olinger of Peru, Indiana, and John Olinger of Clarksville, Indiana. Also surviving is one grandson, Drew Hunt, also of Peru, in addition to, her granddogs: Rylee, Cooper, and Bella.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, and her brother, Raymond Marks.   

A visitation and service honoring the life of Barbara will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana .  A funeral  service will follow at 1:00pm with Pastor Richard Olson officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
