Our sweet “Rae” of sunshine, Amelia Rae Beard, age 3, tragically left us on July 20th, 2023, surrounded by devoted and loving family members. She was born August 17, 2019, in Warsaw, Indiana to Tara Lees and Beau Beard. Amelia is survived by her parents Tara and Beau, her brothers Colton and Max and sister Alanis, her grandparents Michelle, Bryan, Gloria, Doug, Charles, and Lori, her great grandparents Maggie, Harry, Judy, Arnold, and Norma, her uncles Ben, Jacob, Jake, and Casey, her aunts Bridgette, Tasha, and Beth along with many loving cousins and friends. Amelia is preceded in death by her grandfather Shawn Beard.
‘Millie’ or ‘Mills’, as she was affectionately known, was the heart of her loving family. She loved her mother’s perfect “rubs”, bonding over their love of food, and dancing in the kitchen. Laying “cheek to cheek” with her Daddy, going for walks on his shoulders and singing silly songs together. She loved to be chased around the house saying, “Catch me if you can”. Her sister Alanis was her “best friend” they spent hours playing family and shared countless hugs. She loved it when her big brother, Colton, would dress her up in funny outfits and take pictures of her. She loved hanging out with Max in his room playing with his toys and mini-Pacman arcade.
Chewy, the family’s dog, she spoiled with affection. “Aw look at his eyes” she would say as she gave him all the pets and hugs. Swinging was her favorite outdoor playtime activity which she frequently enjoyed. At the end of the day, she loved to snuggle with her family while watching some of her favorite “wideos”. These loving moments were just a few of the many precious gifts that she chose to share with those lucky enough to love her.
Amelia had a resilient spirit and contagious attitude of happiness and joy which were an inspiration to all those who knew her. Her smile and ability to shine even amid the most difficult periods of her life always proved to be a beacon of strength, hope, and optimism to others. She was a constant reminder that happiness was always possible regardless of the hardships in life. To know her was to love her.
Rest easy sweet Millie Moo. You made us all better. We will love and miss you for all eternity.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
