Alice Elaine Overly, age 79, entered into the presence of her Lord & Savior on April 23, 2026. She passed away peacefully at The Waters of Peru.
Alice was born October 29, 1946 to Howard & Leota Soule who preceded her in death. On January 12, 1969, she was married to David Overly who preceded her in death as well.
Alice went back to high school in her late 20’s to get her diploma. She was so proud of this accomplishment.
Alice loved playing the guitar. She had her pilot’s license. She would take her family on short airplane rides. She owned a small motorcycle and her and David would ride together. They took many family trips to Mackinaw City and The Smokey Mountains.
Alice had many collections over the years- Cabbage Patch dolls, coins, and gemstones.
Alice was a secretary for Farm Bureau insurance. She was also co-owner and secretary for David Overly Plumbing & Heating.
Alice was very proud of her family heritage. She was a Tribal Citizen of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. She served on the Tribal Council for many years.
Alice is survived by her daughter Tracy Sun, Jeanette Ellison (Robin Townsend). Grandsons Joey Trudeau, Mike Morris (Angela), Brandon Morris. Great grandchildren Jon Morris and Austin Morris, Brittany Walton, Catherine Trudeau, Emily Trudeau, Brayden Trudeau, Conrad Trudeau, Donaven Luna, and 2 great great-grandchildren: Esmae Miller and Amara Walton. She is also survived by brother Thomas Soule and many nieces and nephews, and lifetime friends: Chuck Malott, Anita Roos, Ruthanne Irons (sister at heart) and Carol Rajski.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David, her parents, her grandson, Steven Trudeau and her siblings: Harriet Gill, Richard Soule Sr., Beverly Stewart, Wayne Soule, Allen Soule Sr., and Howard Soule.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. A funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with burial to take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery in Logansport, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
