Adred Hicks Obituary

Adred Granville Hicks, 78, of Peru, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at his residence.

He was born in Elk Valley, TN on March 2, 1942 to Albert L. and Ethel (Martin) Hicks.  He married Lexine (Baker) Hicks in 1974, and she survives.  Adred served in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam.  He spent the rest of his life working in the manufacturing industry, working for Classico in Peru.  He loved hunting, fishing, gunsmithing, sitting on the porch swing, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, and his children: R. Roger Madden (Judy) of Macy, Donna Walsh (Randy) of Platte City, MO, Brenda Boyll of Kokomo, and Linda Imhoff (Vern) of Peru; as well as 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are brothers Landin Hicks of Peru and Melvis Hicks (Barbara) of Logansport; and sister Azaleen Baker (Earnest) of Peru.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as brothers Dulen Hicks, Gordon Hicks (Cheryl), and Bunis Hicks; and sisters Ruby Lay, and Ella Mae Lay.

Visitation will be held from 11am – 1pm on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will follow at 1pm, with Jamie Miser officiating.  Burial will take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Logansport, Indiana.  Military service will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
