Velva A. (Rutherford) Clingaman

Velva A. Clingaman, 77, of Tipton passed away at 6am on Monday, December 17, 2018 at her residence.

She was born on February 4, 1941 in Canada, Kentucky to Lawrence and Roxie (Blackburn) Rutherford.  She was married to Robert Clingaman, and he survives.  Velva retired as a supervisor at Rytex, and was a member of the Ash Street Wesleyan Church in Tipton.

She is survived by her husband and their children: Mike (Rita) Clingaman of Peru, Danny Ray Clingaman of Elwood, Connie (Kenny) Guffey of Tipton, and Robert W. (Connie) Clingaman of Windfall.  Also, brothers L.R. Rutherford, Rolin Rutherford, Eddie Zornes, and Charlie Rutherford; and sisters Freda Willis and Roxie Jane Amburn; all of Kentucky.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a fifth on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Alvis Zornes, and one grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 12pm – 2pm on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will follow at 2pm, with Pastor Logan Westrick officiating.  Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
