Sharon (Whitaker) Russell

Sharon Russell, 69, of Macy passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at her residence.

She was born on December 29, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Andrew Whitaker and Eva (Doan) Hutter.  She married Charles Russell, and he preceded her in death on August 16, 2007.  She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her children: Duane Rutledge of Peru, James Rutledge of Peru, and David Rutledge of Abilene, Texas; and grandchildren: Kirstie Rutledge of Peru, Abbey Caldwell of Peru, Jamie Rutledge of Peru, Tabitha Rutledge of Peru, James Rutledge of Peru, David Rutledge of Peru, Devon Rutledge of Abilene, Texas, Brett Rogers of Hartford City, and Angelina Rutledge of Marion; and numerous great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are brothers: Richard Whitaker of Peru, Andrew Whitaker of Mexico, and Thomas Rogers of Peru; and sisters Terry Sampson of Macy, and Jane Mutch of Peru; step-brothers Jim Hutter, John Hutter and Arthur Hutter, all of Auburn; and step-sister Rosellen Abbott of Perrysburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Jamie Rutledge, daughter Jessica Rutledge, daughter Eva Marie Rutledge, brother Lawrence Whitaker, and granddaughter Angel Rutledge.

Visitation will be held from 11am – 1pm on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will follow at 1pm, with Pastor Jim Rairigh officiating.  Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
