Sandra (Sandy) Maureen (Walsh) Fry

Sandra (Sandy) Maureen Fry (née Walsh), 57, of Peru, Indiana unexpectedly passed away on Saturday morning, August 17, 2019. She passed peacefully in her sleep at her home.

She was born to Patrick and Sharon (née Shebel) Walsh on January 7th, 1962 in Springfield, Ill. Sandy graduated from Peru High School and Indiana University Kokomo with a degree in Nursing. Sandy worked at Aperion Care in Kokomo, IN.

Sandy was an avid Disney fan and was always taking trips to visit the “Happiest Place on Earth” with her husband and daughter. Sandy was an amazing nurse and through her many years of nursing, she made many friends and gave her knowledge and care to those who needed it. Aside from being passionate about her career, Sandy was also passionate about her family and pets. Sandy would put her family first and was often ensuring their health prior to her own. Sandy would drop everything at any time of day to care for her family. While caring for family, Sandy also was passionate about the local neighborhood cats. She would often be found bottle feeding the small kittens to ensure their safety and health. Sandy’s personality was unlike any other and her smile and laugh were infectious. She could make any cloudy day bright again. She is deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Emily Fry, West Lafayette, her husband, Bob Fry, Peru, her mother, Sharon Walsh, Peru. Siblings Sarah (spouse Randy) Oldfather, Patty Walsh, Andy (spouse Michele) Walsh, and Michael (Shelley) Walsh, all of Peru. Her extended family Peggy and Steve Hostetler, Bonnie and Richard Maple, Denver, James and Maleta, Peru, and Billy, California. Nieces and nephews Gracie, Evan Walsh, Peru, Brandon (Sarah) Appleton, Angola, Aaron Walsh, Plainfield, David Walsh, Peru, Stuart Walsh, Bloomington, Chad and Angie Cox, Texas, Chad and Heather James, Winona Lake, Michelle, Marsha, and Joey Maple, Denver. Multiple cousins, aunts, and uncles also survive.

She is preceded in death by her father, sister, Andrea Walsh, and some aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from 4pm-8pm on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third St, Peru, IN, with a rosary service following at 8pm. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 80 West Fifth St, Peru, IN, with Father Adam Mauman officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, IN.
