Sally A. Lowe, 85, of Peru passed away at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her soul winged its way to heaven on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.
She was born to Dale and Ruth Grossman Cox on April 13, 1934 in Plymouth, Indiana. She graduated from Plymouth High School and holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in education from Ball State University. She was a teacher for 22 years. She was a member of the Denver Baptist Church and the Denver Lion’s Club. She was also a member of the BPW and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Sally never met a stranger, as she loved people, her home, and her family. They were all very dear to her.
She was widowed by her “Honey” Donald Lowe, and survived by one son Brad Dirrim (Julie), and one grandson Jared Dirrim (fiancé Sarah Meyer) of Logansport, as well as two great-grandchildren J.D. Meyer and Lillyann Dirrim. Also, three step-children Tracey Marek of Peru, Cindy (Alex) Castro of Roann, and Shane (Cheryl) Lowe of rural Peru; as well as four step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
There were many other special people in Sally’s life, including Tom Garber of AR, and kids Dannie Garber Crane, and Dallis Garber (Cassidy) of PA. Also Larry (Carolyn, deceased) Mason and family from Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three husbands.
Visitation will be held from 11am – 1pm on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. A memorial service will follow at 1pm, with Pastor Jerry Long officiating. Interment will take place at West Lawn Cemetery in Denver, Indiana.
