Ricky A. Hines

Ricky A. Hines, 66, of Peru passed away on December 18, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on August 3, 1952 to Earl Edward Hines and Helen Marie (Teabolt) Hines.  Ricky was a 1970 graduate of Peru High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy.  Ricky's rank was “aviation structural mechanic first class.”  He was a member of the Fighting Red Griffins of Sea Strike Squadron Thirty-Eight (VS-38).  Ricky was stationed on the USS Ranger and served in Desert Storm.  One of his many accomplishments was receiving the Navy Achievement Medal.  After serving in the Navy,  Ricky was employed with Continental/United Airline and had just recently retired after 21 years.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Edward Hines, Helen Marie (Teabolt), sisters Che Che (Hines) Roberts, Sally (Hines) Bookwalter, and a brother Mort Earl Hines.

He is survived by his daughter Nikki Workman, a sister Flurry (Hines) Robinson (Jim), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who love him dearly.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Eagle's Lodge in Peru from 1pm to 4pm.
