Raymond Bean Obituary

Raymond Bean, born February 25, 1939 to John Henry Bean and Ruth Roberts Bean in Rulo, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 8:20pm at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, surrounded by his family.

He married Thelma Louise Hackbarth Bean in Omaha, Nebraska on May 27, 1966.  They had three children.  He worked and retired from Chrysler Casting Plan, beginning February 13, 1973 thru May 31, 1999.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He had a passion for Nascar, supported the Autism Foundation, and always had a silly song or joke to lend.

He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Louise Hackbarth Bean, his mother and father, three brothers, and three sisters.

He is survived by brothers William Bean and Joe Bean, and sister Mary MacManaonon, all of Nebraska; son Michael (Amber) Bean of Peru, daughter Stacy (Shawn) Dyson of Grand Rapids MI, and son Duane Bean (Dusty Miller) of Royal Center IN.  Also, seven grandchildren: Nicholas Campbell, Brandon Bean, Jacqueline Bean, Brandi Maze, Austin Bean, Megan Campbell, and Taylor Bean; three great-grandchildren: Jaxson Long, Thea Walsama, and Lily Campbell.  He is also survived by his best friend and companion, his Boston terrier Dusty Dog.

Family visitation will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 10am – 11am, and friends may call from 11am – 1pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will follow at 1pm, with Pastor Jim Rairigh officiating.  Burial will take place in Ever Rest Memorial Park, Cass County, Indiana.
