Peter Cain Obituary

Peter Cain passed away at his home in Wabash, Indiana on November 7, 2019.

Peter was the son of John Lee Cain and Loretta (Wolf) Cain. He was born on September 29, 1948, and lived in Peru, Indiana for most of his life, until this past January when he moved to Wabash.

Peter was a graduate of Peru High School and went on to become a graduate of Western Michigan University.

Peter cared for his mother, Loretta, until her death in 2007. Then he took a position at K-Mart where he made many friends and stayed there until they closed in 2018.

He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching IU basketball, Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Cubs, and the Fort Wayne Tin Caps. He appreciated a good cigar and savored Jack Daniels.

He loved and cared for his nieces, the “Potato Heads,” Laura (Brandon) Maley, Jennie (Joshua) Rumschlag, and Stephanie O’Shaughnessy (Andy Hanefeld). He would bring them scratch off tickets and shared his love of oldies music and mobster movies.

He was amused by his great nephew, Ayden, and great nieces, Alona, Samantha, Suzie, Sophia, and Bonnie. They made him laugh and they were pretty fond of their Great Uncle Peter.

He is survived by his loving sister, Missy (Steve) Watkins.

Memorial service will be held at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 6pm with Chaplain: Virgil Barker Officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6pm.
