Paul E. Chester, 91, of Denver, Indiana passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Hobart, Indiana on October 23, 1927 to Sela and Josephine (McKinney) Chester. He married Frances Musselman in 1947, and she preceded him in death on September 6, 2000. Paul retired from Nipsco as a serviceman in 1993, and he was a lifetime farmer. He belonged to the Odd Fellows in Deedsville. Paul was an avid hunter, and a dedicated family man.
He is survived by his children: Michael (Sandy) Chester of Wabash, Karen (Joseph) Chumbley of Chili, Ken (Katrine) Chester of Peru, Jim Chester of Chili, and Frank Chester of Tuscon, Arizona. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son Jeff Chester, daughter-in-law Sally Chester, brother Walter Lotz Jr., sister Marilyn Click, and sister Clarbel Swantner.
Visitation will be held from 10am – 1pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will follow at 1pm, with Pastor Mark Elliott officiating. Burial will take place at Chili Cemetery in Chili, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
