Larry Ewer Obituary

Larry Howard Ewer, 82, of Peru passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.

He was born in Miami County on January 10, 1936 to Howard William and Marion (Smith) Ewer. He married Judy (Townsend) Ewer on November 29, 1958, and she survives. A lifelong sign painter and artist, Larry also worked in the civil service at Grissom Air Force Base, and as an engineer for the C&O Railroad. He was a member of the Peru Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, as well as his sons Brent (Cindy) Ewer, Bart (Cory) Ewer, and Brook Ewer, all of Peru; and his daughter Trudy Ewer VanHook of Brazil, In. Also surviving are a sister Sharon Cadwallader of Peru, as well as grandchildren: Danielle (Travis) Spangle, Lauren Ewer, Michael Schnelker, Katelyn Schnelker, Zachery Schnelker, Anthony Schnelker, Derek Faust, Jade VanHook, Hailey Ewer, Logan Ewer, Bethany Ewer, and Chase Ewer; great-grandchildren: Kolbie Schnelker, Jacob Wicker, and a great-grandchild on the way (February, 2019); step-grandchildren: Jefferey (Briana) Morehead, and Samantha (Julio) Ramirez; and step-great-grandchildren: Ashton Morehead, Cohle Morehead, Arthur Morehead, Brooklyn Riggle, and Jaxon Ramirez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tom Ewer, infant brothers Eugene and Ronald Ewer, and his daughter Tina Ewer.

Visitation will be held from 4pm - 7pm on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the funeral home, with Pastor Phil Cruea officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru. Memorial donations may be made to Miami County Helping Hands.
