Jordan Isaac Slack was born on August 6, 1990 in Whitley County, Indiana, to Howard and Susan Slack. He and they together have faced a lifetime of physical issues which greatly reduced his capabilities, but he had been a part of their family for almost 30 years. While he lived under several serious disabilities, he was created by God who had a purpose for his life on earth, and we believe he is now experiencing real life and freedom for the first time, in the presence of our Savior, Christ Jesus. Jordan never once in his life displayed anger or self-pity. He was simple of mind yet an inspiration to his family as an example of innocence and humility.
Jordan passed from this life on Sunday morning, March 15, 2020 at the family home near Bunker Hill, Indiana. Besides both parents, he is survived by a grandmother, 11 siblings and 18 cousins. His brothers are Reuben and Mark, both living near Charleston, SC, and Joel and Gordon, both from Peru, IN. His sisters are Hannah Christy of Avon, IN, Rebekah Marks of Peru, IN, Chavah Wilson of Watertown, WI, Shoshannah Ragan of Cassopolis, MI, Joanna Slack of Indianapolis, Leah Ulmer of Terre Haute, and Keila Wagler of Amboy, IN. His grandmother is Irma Slack of Plymouth, IN.
There will be a small private funeral for close family and a few friends, but no open visitation due to current widespread health concerns. When the sickness and fears have subsided, there will be a memorial service open to all who wish to attend.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at www.FlowersLeedyAllen.com.
