Hilda Martha Boettjer Schmidt
December 19, 1926 — May 26, 2019

Born in Cass County on December 19, 1926, and departed to eternal life on May 26, 2019, Hilda was a graduate of Bunker Hill High School. A homemaker/farmers wife all her life, she is a member of McNeely Memorial Church and Eastern Star.

Hilda loved her crafts, sewing/knitting, playing cards, bingo, trains and old barns. Along with that, she loved history and traveling every chance she got. She told many stories of her various travels and growing up in the early years. The life of a farmer’s wife, raising her four children — the hard times and the good times. She was very proud of the life she had built with her husband.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, George Boettjer, Luella (Setty) Forshee, husband Alvin Schmidt, brother Herman (Sonny) Boettjer, one great grandchild, and Harley, her companion dog.

She is survived by her three sons, Michael Schmidt (Linda), Jim Schmidt (Becky), and Tracey Schmidt (Teresa), and her daughter Linda Schmidt. Also, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and Cassidy… her companion granddog, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Private services were held on May 30, 2019 at the Everest Memorial Chapel.
