Harold Howell Obituary

Harold King Howell, 87, of Bunker Hill, Indiana passed away at 3:50pm on March 26, 2017 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Peru, Indiana to King E. and Eva Howell on March 10, 1930. Harold served in the United States Navy in the Korean War and in Italy. He later retired as an engineer on the Norfolk & Western Railroad. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Kokomo, Indiana, and also a member of the Moose and the Masons. His hobbies included watching the Indiana Pacers, the Indianapolis Colts, and western movies.

Harold is survived by his son Michael Howell, of Peru, and stepdaughter Pam (Mike) Hunsche, of California. Also, sisters Irene (William) Parrett and Willa (Donald) Bullock, both of Peru, In. Also, grandson, Trent Hunsche; as well as nieces and nephew Cheryl Harrison (St. Petersburg, FL), Dawn Trook (Bradenton, FL), Beth (Bob) Hardee (Grand Rapids, MI), Penny (Len) Bailey (Buchanan, MI), and Ron (Beth) Bullock (Circleville, OH).

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as two wives, Thelma Mae Warner and Donna Jackson Howell. Also preceding him in death are a son, Mitchell E. Howell; two brothers, James A. Howell and John E. Howell; a sister, Marjorie (Robert) Trook; and a grandchild, Brandon Hunsche.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am - 1:00Pm on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will follow at 1:00Pm, with Dr. Mike Holloway officiating. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, Indiana. Military service will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
