Georgia Louise (Roop) McDougle

Georgia Louise (Roop) McDougle, 93, of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday December 26, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Peru.

She was born in Peru, Indiana on October 6, 1925 to George and Inez (Green) Roop.  She was married to Clarence McDougle, and he preceded her in death in 2009.  Georgia was an assembly worker at Classico in Peru, and a lifelong member of the Eagles Lodge.

She is survived by her children: Clarence (Cathy) McDougle Jr. of Peru, Jan (Chuck) Moore of Winchester, OR, Della Maynard of Peru, Joyce Cupp of Whitesburg, TN, Harold (Berniece) McDougle of Denver, IN, and Shelly (Rick) Hoff of Peru.  Also surviving is a brother Richard Roop, as well as 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a special nephew, Rob (Tina) Finan of New Albany, Pennsylvania and a special friend Dee (Bryan) Reed of Peru.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Dean McDougle, son-in-law John Cupp, grandson Joseph McDougle, and sister Betty Roop Finan.

Visitation will be held from 12pm – 2pm on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will follow at 2pm, with Pastor Rod Correll officiating.  Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mexico, Indiana.
