Eva ("Aunt Skeet") M. (Tyler) Olivarez

Eva M. Olivarez (“Aunt Skeet”), 91, of Peru passed away at 4:30pm on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Peru on July 14, 1927 to Joseph Henry and Alice Mae (Newburn) Tyler.  She was married to Fredrick J. Selleck, later divorced.  They had seven children: Marla (Ron) See of Peru, Steve (Jackie) Selleck of Auburn, Mike (Rhonda) Selleck of Peru, Robin Selleck of Peru, and daughter-in-law Stacy of Peru.  Eva had over one hundred grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She married Jose Olivarez later in life.  He preceded her in death, as well as three children: Kevin J. Kimberly J. and Roger L. Selleck.  Also, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and nine siblings also preceded her in death.

Earlier in life, Eva worked in a factory and was a homemaker.  She loved her family and family gatherings, playing cards, and sitting on the porch outside being nosy.

Visitation will be held from 3pm – 7pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the funeral home, with Pastor Rod Correll officiating.  Burial will take place at Reyburn Cemetery in Peru, Indiana. 

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
