Donald L West

Donald L. West, 74, of Peru passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Brazil, Indiana on July 9, 1944 to Donald and Mary Kathleen (Bennett) West, who are both deceased.  He married Kathy (Davey) West on August 21, 1965 and she preceded him in death on May 1, 2005.  On January 7, 2006, Don married Diane (Kinser)  Correll and she survives. Don was retired from Grissom Air Reserve Base where he was in charge of munitions. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Don was a member of the Fortville Masonic Lodge #207 , Wabash Valley Coon Hunters Association, Izaak Walton League, and the American Legion. In his spare time, Don enjoyed firearms, model airplanes, and tinkering with engines.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, as well as his sons Steven (Patricia) West, Robert (Susie) West, and Kevin (Jami) Correll, all of Peru; and his daughters Stephanie Yentes of Peru and Amy (Scott) Lovelace of Latrobe, Pennsylvania.  Also surviving is a brother John (Robin) West of Pendleton, Indiana, as well as grandchildren: Heather West, Ryan West, Jessica West, Victoria Nice, Seth Correll, Sage Correll, Noah Yentes, Luke Moore, Mallory Moore, and Trevor Moore. In addition, a niece, Kelly West and nephew Jamie West.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 4pm-7pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 1pm at the funeral home with Howard Whittlesey officiating.  Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru. Military service will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
