Surrounded by her loving family, beloved wife, mother, and sister Diana Lynn Smith, age 70, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Logansport Hospital.
Diana had recently returned to Indiana after residing in the Tampa area for over 20 years to spend her final days with the support of family who adored her. Diana was born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 28, 1949 to Tom and Lola Anderson. She was a 1967 Peru High School graduate and a member of the Peru Amateur Circus. She attended 2 years at Ball State University and worked as a medical secretary for Logansport Hospital before relocating to the Tampa area. Her favorite things included spending time with her loving husband in the Florida sunshine, watching NASCAR and the Tampa Bay Rays, playing the penny slots at the Hard Rock Casino, strolling St. John’s Pass, and cuddling her two fur babies.
She is survived by her devoted husband of over 40 years, David Smith, three sons: David Smith (Erica) Peru, Dustin Smith (Shauna) Galveston, and Jason Smith of Peru; two brothers: Bill Anderson (Nancy) and Steve Anderson both from Peru; and 5 grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 1pm - 4pm at The Bible Forum, located at 2348 Randolph Street, Grissom Air Base, Peru. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Liver Foundation.
