Carolyn J. (Stein) DuBois

It is with great sadness that the family of Carolyn J. DuBois (Stein) formerly of Chili and Peru, Indiana has gained her wings to fly with her beloved butterflies and our Lord on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, Virginia Beach, VA.

Carolyn was born on November 19, 1934 to Fred and Pauline Stein of Chili, IN.

Carolyn was an active member of the Aragona Moose Lodge and the Women Helping Others Organization. Her favorite thing to do was to knit and crochet beautiful creations. There was nothing she couldn't knit or crochet and she loved to see the looks of the people she gifted her beautiful creations to.

She had a loving sweet soul and would help anyone out if she could. She loved to joke around and make everyone smile. Carolyn was loved by everyone she came in contact with. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and she loved them deeply. She was very proud of everything they  accomplished in their life.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Pauline Stein, a daughter-in-law, Jennyfer Ruble, three great-grandchildren, Landyn, Teagan, and Leo. Also, two sister-in-laws, Nancy Stein and Judith Stein.

She is survived by her two children, her daughter, Rochelle Hiles and husband Bill, Denver, IN and her son, Craig Wahlig, Peru, IN, two brothers, Ronald Stein, Wabash, IN and Clifford Stein, Chili, IN, a sister, Janet Walker and husband Bill, Muncie, IN. Five grandchildren, Derick Ruble, Kokomo, IN, Amanda Cook and friend Chad, Miami, IN, Shane Ruble and wife Krystal, Kokomo, IN, Justin Wahlig, Peru, IN and Caitlin Wahlig, Peru, IN. Also, three great-grandchildren, Kaden Ruble, Naomi Cook, and Harper Ruble. She also was blessed with many nieces and nephews, as well as one very special childhood friend Phyllis Wooten, Peru, IN and her beloved parakeet Fritzy.

Visitation will be held  from 11am – 2pm on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the funeral home, with Pastor Jerry Long officiating.
