Barbara Ann Carey McDowell was born to the late Orville and Helen Alexander on December 28, 1930 in Huntington, Indiana. She passed at at 5:18am on Monday, September 9, 2019 at home in Peru, Indiana.
Barbara retired from the Miami County Courthouse. She worked in the auditor’s office. She belonged to the Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntington, Indiana. Her favorite place was her lake cottage in North Webster, Indiana, where she enjoyed canoeing, swimming, and so much more.
Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jane Garwood, her husbands Robert L. Carey and Max McDowell. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Susan Perkins of Peru, and Marsha Carey of Tampa, FL. Also, four stepchildren from the McDowell family. Also, grandchildren Crystal Swavey and husband Michael, Ronald Yates Jr., Aaron Eikenberry and wife Nicole, and Amy Eikenberry; and five great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later date.
