Barbara S. (Smith) Adams

Barbara S. (Smith) Adams, 69, of Peru passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

She was born on May 14, 1949 in Peru to Howard and Mildred (Ensley) Smith. She married George A. Adams, and he survives.  Barbara worked as a housekeeper at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru.  In later years, she was a homemaker. 

She is survived by two daughters: Tammy (James) Stamper, Washington, IN, and Marie (Joseph) Beck, Missouri.  Also, four sons: George Adams, Jr., Peru; Howard Adams, Florida; Paul (April) Adams, Peru; and Robert (Kristie) Adams, Peru.  Also surviving are three sisters: Marylou ( Terry) Gladwell, Yonkers, New York; Susan(John) Helton, Bunker Hill;  and Kathi Leonhardt, Peru; and two brothers: Michael Smith, Peru; Danny Smith (Geodie), Peru. Also, fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Stephen C. Smith and Howard W. Smith, and two sisters, Edna Reed and Tammy Finney.

Viewing will be held from 4pm – 6pm on Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Family Fellowship Church of God, 360 Harrison Avenue, Peru . A dinner will follow.
