Alice Bertha (Jaeger) Bretz

Alice Bertha Bretz, 90, of Peru passed away at 5:16pm on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Blair Ridge Health Campus in Peru.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 6, 1928 to Carl and Catherine (Praxmarer) Jaeger.  She married Charles Bretz on March 3, 1951.  Formerly a high school cook, Alice was a member of the United Church of Christ in Crystal Lake, Illinois, as well as the IOOF Rebekah and the Holiday Rambler RV Club.

She is survived by her husband Charles, as well as daughter Cheryl (Greg) Irwin of Auburn, WA; daughter Kathryn (Wayne) Bunker of Peru; and son Charles (Stacey) Bretz of Mt. Prospect, IL.  Also surviving are grandkids Jennifer Korving, Jaclyn (Brice) Orton, Kristine Schuster, Michelle Kuper, Daniel Kuper, Jonathan Bretz, and Jessica Bretz; and great-grandkids Jazlyn Korving, Kiana Korving, Ethan Orton, Chase Orton, Harrison Orton, and Taylor Hursey.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4pm – 7pm on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will follow at 7pm, with Pastor Jim Rairigh officiating.  Burial will take place at 2pm (CST) on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Memory Garden Cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL.
