Thomas “Tom” Edward Pogue Jr., 58, of Peru, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at his residence.
He was born on October 16, 1965 to Thomas Edward Pogue Sr. and Sandra (Shoemaker) Smith. On August 27, 1994, Tom married Tricia (Townsend) Pogue. He was employed at Rochester Metals as a crane operator.
Tom was a collector of things including Dale Earnhardt memorabilia, and Miami Indian items as part of his heritage. He loved watching the Colts and Notre Dame football and wrestling. Tom was a storyteller and would talk to anyone who would listen.
Tom is survived by his wife, Tricia, his mother, Sandra Smith (Darryl Lutes), of Lafayette, Indiana, his children: Michelle (Gregory) McConahay of Macy, Indiana, Jason (Angela) Newman of Peru, Indiana, and April Suerig (Wesley Williams) of Peru, Indiana. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild due later this year. Tom is also survived by his brothers, Shawn (Nichole) Jones of San Diego, California and Chris (Christy) Pogue of Dothan, Alabama.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm with Pastor Rod Correll officiating. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mexico, Indiana.
