Ray E. Carter, 66, took his first step into his eternal life, hand in hand with his heavenly father, to be greeted by his parents, mother Hellen, Robert, and step father Harry in the early morning of August 2, 2022.
Waiting to be reunited with him again are his wife Martha, who he shared 45 wonderful years with, his children Joshua, Nicholas & his wife Kayla. Also, grandchildren Rebecca & fiancé Spencer, Selena, Ian & Elijah, great-grandchildren Oliver & Alexzander, sister Sherrel & her husband Bob.
Ray served his country in the National Guard for 6 years before committing to the workforce, taking on a number of jobs and responsibilities. Ray's favorite responsibility was being a loving husband and father. He was a man full of life with a kind soul who would give the shirt off his back to anyone he met and he never met a stranger. Even after his massive stroke in 2004, Ray never complained and he made the most out of his life, spending time with his friends and neighbors out on the patio in his little community. Ray was a man of faith, serving as a member of the Peru Church of the Brethren for many years.
Visitation will be held from 11am – 1pm on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will follow at 1pm, with Pastor Phil Troxel officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Peru Church of the Brethren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at www.FlowersLeedyAllen.com.
